James McCalman

James is currently Professor of Leadership Studies and Director of the Centre for Strategy and Leadership at Portsmouth Business School. Formerly, Chief Executive of the Windsor Leadership Trust, a charitable organization which runs senior leadership development programmes at the Queens residence, Windsor Castle in England James has held senior academic posts at the Universities of Brunel, Glasgow and Strathclyde as well as being Director of MBA Programmes at Ashridge Business School.

He is the author of four books, seven book chapters and over thirty journal articles related to organizational behaviour and change in organizations. James has been involved in teaching and consultancy in numerous countries in the areas of organization development, change management and teamwork.

He was Managing Director of Sotheby's Institute of Art, one of the leading providers of postgraduate education in art and business, where he significantly increased student numbers as well as opening new campuses in New York and Singapore.

James’s current research interests involve trust in leaderdship and the politics of organizational change and the use of politicking by managers.
