Nirmala Moorthy

Nirmala Moorthy, a journalist for several decades, has published articles and short stories in a dozen countries in Asia, Africa and the USA. In India she has written for The Times of India, the Hindustan Times, the Hindu, the Illustrated Weekly, Femina and Eve's Weekly. Ten of her short stories have been published in North American magazines and anthologies.

As a fiction writer Moorthy has established her competence beyond question. Her first three novels are set in India: Maya, published in 1997 was later translated into Polish by Dialog in Warsaw. Her second novel The Coiled Serpent was published by Clocktower Books in 2000, and her third novel The River Turned Red was brought out by Publish America in 2003. Her fourth book is a collection of short stories most of which have been published--sometimes more than once-- in newspapers and magazines across the world.
