Alex Tanous

Dr Alex Tanous (1926-1990), lived in Portland, Maine, and was an international teacher of philosophy, well-being, and parapsychology, holding five degrees including three Masters degrees and a Divinity Doctorate.

His lecturing took him all over the world, especially to Japan toward the last few years of his life. However, his teachings were most noted throughout the USA and Canada. He held a lecture post at the University of Southern Maine, where for many years he taught parapsychology as a credited module, seeing hundreds of students through this class. He spent many years working with groups and families investigating psychic phenomena, including investigations of his own abilities, through the American Society for Psychical Research for twenty years.

In the year 1990 shortly before his death, he established the Alex Tanous Foundation for Scientific Research with the help of friends and family, in order to preserve his work and teachings, in the hope that it would be made of use and continued. The Foundation's work and goals still continue to this day.
