Jason Abbott

Jason Abbott originally hails from Manchester in the United Kingdom, although he has lived and worked in Louisville, Kentucky, for the past ten years. He is currently a Professor of Political Science at the University of Louisville.

He previously worked at the Universities of Surrey, London (SOAS) & Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom. He is a graduate of the University of Newcastle (BA HONS) and Nottingham Trent (Ph.D.).

In his professional role, he has published widely over the past 25 years in International Political Economy and the comparative politics of Southeast Asia. In addition, he has given media interviews and commentary for organizations including the BBC, Al-Jazeera, CNN, and Voice of America.

His most recent departure takes him away from academia into the world of poetry, something he has for which he has had a passion for decades.

In his spare time, Jason coaches middle school soccer and likes to run marathons. He also tries his hand at woodworking and is a bit of a sci-fi nerd.
