Jack Swenson

I am a writer of short fiction. I write about the Human Comedy. I write flash and micro fiction. I believe that brave writer has the courage to leave spaces; I don't like to waste words. On the other hand I believe that stories are narratives that suggest consequences. I write about the human condition in all its glory and infamy. My mentors are Carver, Hemingway, and Isaac Babel. I also admire the fiction of the poet William Carlos Williams.

My backround includes such diverse occupations as teaching school and writing advertising copy. I taught at a small college for many years. Now I teach a course in creative writing at the local Senior Center. I live in Northern California with my wife Chris and our three cats.
