Suzanne Cloud Tapper

Suzanne Cloud Tapper, writer, historian, and jazz singer-songwriter (known under the name Suzanne Cloud), lives in Collingswood, NJ. She received her doctorate in American Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and has authored four young-adult American history books. As an essayist, Cloud Tapper has contributed to the African-American National Biography Project for the W.E.B. DuBois Institute at Harvard University, and is a long-time contributing writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer. She is executive director of The Philadelphia Jazz Legacy Project, a nonprofit that is building a Philadelphia jazz archive at the Blockson Collection at Temple University, and has written a one man show about Dizzy Gillespie called "Last Call at the Downbeat," a pick for the 2013 Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts.
