Kurt W Kolasinski is a Professor of physical chemistry at West Chester University and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. BS in Chemistry: University of Pittsburgh. PhD: Stanford University studying in Richard N. Zare’s lab. Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at the Fritz-Haber-Institut in Berlin. National Research Council Resident Research Associate at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD. Prior to WCU, he held faculty positions at the University of Virginia (2004–2006), Queen Mary University of London (2001–2004), and the University of Birmingham (UK) (1995–2001). His research focuses on surface science, laser/surface interactions and nanoscience with particular emphasis on the production and reactivity of nanostructures. He is the author of over 100 scholarly publications as well as the textbooks Surface Science: Foundations of Catalysis and Nanoscience, which appeared in a fourth edition in 2019, and Physical Chemistry: How Chemistry Works, which was published in 2016 and translated into Greek in 2020.
