After I retired from teaching, I developed an interest in early American history. My first book was Plymouth Poppet: The Adventures of a Young Girl in Plymouth Colony. Initially, it was written to supplement the fifth grade curriculum of colonial history, but I was delighted that adults enjoyed the book as well. While researching that book, I ran across references to King Philip's War. Wanting to know what that was all about, I uncovered a little known, but very pivotal native rebellion against the English colonists in New England in 1675-76. New England on Fire! Stories from King Philip's War was the result of four years' study of primary and secondary sources about this brutal war. This book is intended for a high school through adult readers. Although both books are fiction, I have attempted to keep as close to the facts as possible. In between each fictional chapter, there is a nonfiction explanation of the impact of the previous chapter.

I live in Tacoma, Washington, with my husband. We have two children and four grandsons. I enjoy reading, listening to music and giving talks about the colonial era of our country.
