Welcome to my Author Page.

My background is in Political Science, having received my PhD from the London School of Economics where I also taught for a couple of years before setting up a consultancy called EPIC - the European Policy Information Centre which offers advice and guidance to governments, businesses and NGOs in EU accession and candidate countries. I continue to teach for a number of London-based study abroad programmes including Washington University in St. Louis, the University of California, and the University of Oregon. My most recent publication is the fourth edition of a textbook entitled 'The European Union Explained' (2024). I am also the author of 'The End of Europe? The Five Dilemmas of the European Union' (2020), as well as 'Separation after Unification: The Crisis of National Identity in Eastern Germany’ (1998).
