Roopinder Singh

Roopinder Singh studied philosophy at St. Stephen's College, Delhi, and earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Delhi University.

A journalist who worked in New York earlier, Roopinder retired, in 2020, as Senior Associate Editor of The Tribune, Chandigarh, one of India's top 10 English newspapers in circulation and readership. He has a keen interest in photography. In 1998, he launched The Tribune's popular Internet Edition.

He is the author of Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh DFC (2002) and Guru Nanak: His Life and Teachings (2004) and Guru Nanak: Jivan Aur Shishae (2007). He is co-editor of Giani Gurdit Singh 1923-2007, a festschrift in honour of his father(2008). He is a co-author of Sikh Heritage: Ethos and Relics (2012). Delhi '84 (2014), a novella, was his first book of historical fiction. In 2021, he edited An Inspiring Journey: Inderjit Kaur Sandhu, a festschrift in honour of his mother.
