Mark S. G. Dyczkowski

Mark S. G. Dyczkowski (1951-2025) was an English Indologist and scholar of Kashmir Śaivism, and a sitarist. He studied Sanskrit at Banaras Hindu University and spent over forty years in Benares working with manuscript sources of the Śaiva Tantras. His books include The Doctrine of Vibration, The Stanzas on Vibration, The Canon of the Śaivāgama, and the twelve-volume Manthānabhairavatantram. His complete English translation of Abhinavagupta's Tantrāloka with Jayaratha's commentary was published in eleven volumes, and his translation of the Vijñānabhairava Tantra with both classical commentaries appeared in 2026.
