Andy Clarke is a well-known designer and writer on art direction and design. Andy often looks outside the web for inspiration for digital product and website designs. This has given us a fresh perspective on what we can achieve online. Andy’s knowledge of modern web technologies—combined with a unique perspective on product and website design—helps us deliver designs which are a world away from common generic templates.

Andy loves sharing his approach to his work and is a polished and popular speaker and teacher. Since 2005, Andy’s travelled to almost every continent to speak at major web industry conferences including An Event Apart, Beyond Tellerrand, Smashing Conference, SXSW, and Web Directions.

Andy’s written several popular books on art direction and website design including Art Direction for the Web, Hardboiled Web Design, and Transcending CSS. He also published Contract Killer, a popular open source contract which has been used by thousands of website designers and developers on countless projects.
