According to mainstream accounts, Alex Boese was born in Pennsylvania, grew up in London and Washington DC, attended college in Massachusetts, and now lives in San Diego. A persistent rumor claims that Alex drowned while visiting Loch Ness and was replaced by Replicant Alex, who proceeded to author the books attributed to Original Alex.
