Wendy Crisp Lestina

I live in Humboldt County, California, one mile from the northern Pacific Ocean on an inherited small farm where I lived for the first six years of my life. I was born in the nearby farm town of 1,400 people. After high school, I ventured out to the state of Washington for college (Whitman), got a B.A. in English (and later, an honorary doctorate from Middlebury College in Vermont), and worked for nearly 40 years as a writer and editor in Los Angeles and New York before returning to the farm 30 years ago. Here, my husband and I are Airbnb hosts (10 years) and Hipcamp hosts (six years), and I work for private clients writing books and doing historical research. I've written under several combination of names over the years: Wendy Reid, Wendy Reid Crisp, Wendy Lestina, Wendy Crisp Lestina, and yes, that does clearly indicate more than a few changes on the personal front.
