These days I lead large eCommerce engagements for major retail organizations primarily in the US but also in Europe. I support technical pre-sales and lead a team of 10 other architects. I also do architectural strategy evaluations for clients.

I write because I want to tell, but also because I want to know. I like to write about a subject that I know pretty well, but want to know very well. In 2002, during the ".com" bust, I wrote almost exclusively for 12 months. This resulted in four books completed and a wealth of understanding acquired.

Many people find writing to be difficult. This is true for the first 500 pages, but after that you start to find a rhythm in your approach. My basic strategy is to learn, learn, learn about a chapter's topic first. It doesn't take long before it becomes clear how this would best be explained in the pages of a book.

Having authored or co-authored so many non-fiction books, I have a desire to write historical fiction. I have a number of projects underway, but nothing published yet. I have a "steady job but I want to be a paperback writer".
