William Smith

Upon taking an early retirement, I’ve had plenty of time to reflect upon today's deep changes in social behavior. I now realize that nothing is more important than having close family and friends, sharing a mutual respect for one another. This respect also applies to those who are not like us. Unfortunately, America has become a nation of intolerance to a point where foreigners are being randomly attacked in public places, for no justifiable reason. Bullying by social media has severely infected our school system.

Why has our political differences separated the American population right down the middle? This has been especially evident since Donald Trump became President. What caused this deep conflict between our social circles? Why does Congress function differently when control of our government changes Political Party? How has technology affected our beliefs? The answers to these problems are detailed in my two books.

This first book covers Trump’s 2016 campaign and his first two years in office, when the Republican Party had complete control of our government. My second book which is in the lengthy stages of publication, is subtitled Donald Trump’s Impeachment Problems. This volume speaks of the change in direction of our government after the 2020 midterm election when the Democrats gained control of the House of Representatives.
