Howard H. Stevenson

HOWARD STEVENSON is Professor Emeritus at Harvard

Business School, where he is known as the “lion

of entrepreneurship” and held key leadership

positions including Senior Associate Dean and

Director of External Relations and Chair of the

Harvard Business Publishing Company board. He

also served as Vice Provost for Harvard University

Resources and Planning and Senior Associate

Provost.

An entrepreneur himself, Howard was a founder

and the first president of the Baupost Group, Inc.,

a wealth management firm that now invests $29

billion for its clients. He remains involved in the

investment world, working with his son to manage

investments for the Stevenson family and others.

Howard also has been a director or trustee of over

20 organizations, and is an active philanthropist.

Howard has authored 13 books including The

Entrepreneurial Venture; Entrepreneurship in the

Social Sector; Just Enough: Tools for Creating

Success in Your Work and Life; Getting to Giving: Fundraising the Entrepreneurial Way; and Wealth and Families: Lessons from my Life Journey.
