Matt Birkbeck

Matt Birkbeck is an investigative journalist and bestselling author.

His nonfiction books include Deconstructing Sammy, The Life We Chose and The Quiet Don, as well as his true crime classic A Beautiful Child and Finding Sharon, which were both adapted by Netflix for the 2022 hit film Girl in the Picture, for which he

served as executive producer.

His book A Deadly Secret was adapted by Lifetime TV for its 2017 movie "The Lost Wife of Robert Durst."

His debut work of fiction, The Wicked, was published in 2025.
