Ivan Cury

Ivan Cury began acting on Let’s Pretend at the age of 11. He was best known as Bobby on Bobby Benson and the B-Bar-B Riders, and Portia’s son on Portia Faces Life. He appeared on programs such as Cavalcade of America, Theatre Guild on the Air, The Jack Benny Program, Mr. President, The Greatest Story Ever Told, FBI in Peace & War, Perry Mason, Casey Crime Photographer, My True Story, and hundreds of others. He was the kid whose clothes were always washed in Tide, and the weekly voice asking: “Gee dad, where’s the LAVA soap?” and later in the week…“Hold the Phone…Hold the phone. It’s time for O’Henry Public Energy Number One.” and many other commercials.

Taught at Hunter, Adelphi, and UCLA. Tenured at Cal State University, Los Angeles.
