Laura Rowley

Laura Rowley grew up with ten siblings in an Irish-American family on the South Side of Chicago, where the best way to win the room was to tell a good story. At age 11, she won a prize in a poetry contest and it was off to the races: newspaper reporter, magazine editor, television producer, book author, digital content strategist and bedtime bard for her three daughters. Laura is the author of seven books and held editorial and executive roles at media companies including CNN, Yahoo!Finance, The Huffington Post and the former Meredith Corp. (now People Inc.) She wrote business histories of The Target Corporation (John Wiley & Sons), CBRE, Humana and Family Dollar (Fenwick Publishing); the personal finance book Money & Happiness (Wiley); and two ghost-written memoirs (Regalo Press, KDP). Her essays have been featured in The New York Times, Gannett, Money, Parents, Self and other publications. Laura has appeared on The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS, CNBC, Bloomberg, NPR and other media. She is working on a historical mystery/romance novel set in Estonia. Laura lives in Houston and New York City.
