John G Horgan, PhD, is Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Psychology at Georgia State University. He has a BA and PhD in applied psychology, and his research focuses on terrorism and violent extremism.
His books include Terrorist Minds, The Psychology of Terrorism (2nd Ed.), Divided We Stand: The Strategy and Psychology of Ireland's Dissident Terrorists, Walking Away from Terrorism: Accounts of Disengagement from Radical and Extremist Movements, Leaving Terrorism Behind: Individual and Collective Disengagement, and Terrorism Studies: A Reader.
His research has been featured in such venues as The New York Times, CNN, Rolling Stone, and the Chronicle of Higher Education, and he has testified about terrorism before the U.S. House of Representatives.
He lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
