"My life has been greatly enriched by mentors: in medicine, cardiologist Stephen Scheidt invited me to study at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, helping launch my career as a ""cardiac psychologist."" In music, after receiving my PhD in clinical psychology, drummer Barry Altschul and pianist Paul Bley, inspired me to find my first job playing in a band - rather than as a psychologist. Horseback riding in Central Park and equestrian holidays around the world (13 in all)ultimately led to meeting my lovely wife, Amanda, and then having our daughter Sara, now 13. Sara is a gymnast, a great student and is turning into a terrific young lady.
