John C. Daresh

John C. Daresh, PhD, is a professor of educational leadership at the University of Texas at El Paso. He has more than 20 years of experience in education, holding both faculty and administrative positions.

Dr. Daresh has conducted research and written extensively about a variety of topics related to high school reform issues and the preservice, induction, and in-service activities for aspiring and beginning school leaders. He has authored over 20 books and more than 100 articles and papers presented at local, national, and international conferences.

A former high school teacher in Iowa and Chicago, Dr. Daresh has served as a faculty member and administrator at the University of Cincinnati, The Ohio State University, and the University of Northern Colorado.

He earned a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
