J. Eric Oliver

J. Eric Oliver (born July 6, 1966) is an American political scientist, writer, and podcast host. He is a professor at the University of Chicago. Oliver has published six books and numerous scholarly articles on topics ranging from the “obesity epidemic” to the sources of conspiratorial thinking in American politics. His forthcoming book, How to Know Your Self: The Art and Science of Discovering Who You Really Are, examines what the self is, how it malfunctions, and what we can do to make it work better. He is the host of the KNOWING podcast. He lives in Chicago with his wife, novelist Thea Goodman and their two children.
