Richard Gold has been practicing Asian Healing Arts since his 1978 graduation from the New England School of Acupuncture. Dr. Gold has participated in advanced studies in China (1980), Japan (1986) and Thailand (1988, 1989, 1992).
Dr. Gold apprenticed to Shiatsu Master, Kyoshi Kato in Osaka, Japan in 1986.
He began his studies in Traditional Thai Massage in 1988 in Chiang Mai, Thailand at the Old Medicine Hospital. Dr. Gold has shared his love of Thai massage in classes in the USA, Europe, Brazil, New Zealand and Israel. Richard has taught frequently at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California. His book is also available in Portuguese and Japanese.
Dr. Gold is one of the founders of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (https://www.pacificcollege.edu/).
Currently, Dr. Gold serves on the Board of Directors of the California Institute for Human Sciences (https://www.cihs.edu/) in Encinitas, California.
Dr. Gold is the President and Executive Producer of Metta Mindfulness Music (www.mettamindfulnessmusic.com).
In addition, he has a private practice at the Pacific Center of Health in San Diego, California.
