Michael de Guzman

I write books about kids who populate the margins of society, who have something big to face in life, who take action on their own behalf, and who are aided by adults who live on the margins themselves. A coming together of the world we live in and the world inside my head. Most of the time I'm twelve myself. I step up when I have to, but otherwise... I can't explain why I identify so strongly with kids who live on the streets, who are mistreated and worse, but I do. Or why I am drawn to eccentrics, and they to me. It's been that way since I was a kid. In the end I write for myself, in the hope that some of it will strike a cord here and there. My wife and I live in Seattle, Washington.
