Colin Murphy

Colin C. Murphy is the author of the critically acclaimed historical novel 'Boycott', 'The Lost Voices Trilogy' set in ancient Pompeii, the detective mystery novel 'Dead End Street and the darkly humorous satirical novel 'Blood Sister' which concerns a serial killing nun in early 20th century Italy and the detective who relentlessly pursues her. He has also penned numerous historical non-fiction books including his recent bestselling book about Roman influence on the modern world ‘What Have The Romans Ever Done For Us?’ and the engrossing 'Fierce History', which is a compendium of fascinating historical anecdotes from around the globe. Formerly a multi-award winning creative director of an advertising agency, he quit the business a decade ago for his first professional love, writing. He has had a fascination with history since childhood, in particular the areas of World War Two, ancient Rome and Irish history. He is particularly interested in exploring the lives and stories of the past’s lesser known, yet no less fascinating, men and women. When not writing or travelling he enjoys hillwalking, and has climbed every mountain in Ireland. He lives in Dublin with his family.
