Virginia Baker grew up as an Army brat, graduating from high school in a ceremony held at the celebrated Worms Cathedral, where Martin Luther nailed his protest to the wall and birthed the Protestant branch of Christianity. From there, she graduated from Brigham Young University, where she received a BS in Near Eastern Studies and an MA in English Literature. She's a freelance writer, and during the rare moments she’s not working for clients, she writes fiction. Her first novel, Jack Knife, published by Penguin, enjoyed its debut stint on the Barnes & Noble bestseller rack for several weeks. She's working on the sequel. Today she lives in Santaquin, Utah, running an animal shelter with a gang of dogs, a large flock of birds, and the cats who fear both.
