Hello to all of you readers out there, here's a bit about me. I'm currently 21,535 days old and hoping to get to 36,500 or more (I think?!?!). I live in the hills overlooking the Silicon Valley.
I've been writing for a long, long time thanks to a love instilled by my English teacher Mr. Hardin while at Clayton High School outside of St. Louis. That focus continued as I became a Journalism major at the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawk).
I decided to put writing on hold to build a professional career and found a way to incorporate work and writing with my first textbook called "Annuities". A trade textbook, co-authored with my former partner in a consulting business, "Annuities" energized my love for writing and spawned a follow up textbook on pension distributions also co-written with my ex-partner.
In 2003 I had my aortic valve replaced and during that recovery and break in my professional career I start doing more writing. That led me to writing "Retirement Countdown" which was truly a labor of love. It's always an enriching experience when you share your knowledge with people who are searching for answers. Retirement is such a daunting issue I felt that people needed a fresh perspective and straight talk from someone who didn't have a horse in the race.
I'm gearing up to write some fiction and have started with some ideas on short stories. I love reading and have very eclectic tastes and hope to bring my personality into the fictional writing that I am pursuing.
