Marjorie Ross (Costa Rica, 1945) has a Ph. D. in Education. She is a lifelong investigative researcher, journalist, and food critic, author of more than twenty books in different genres and thousands of newspaper and magazine pieces. Her articles and reviews have been featured in publications such as "Gastronomica. The Journal of Food Studies", "Nexos", the American Airlines Magazine, and "The Journal of Latin American Studies", Cambridge University Press.
She is the recipient of the "Angela Acuña Braun National Award for Gender Equality and Equity in Print Journalism" (1997) and the "Pío Víquez National Journalism Award" (2009).
In addition, she is a two-time winner of the "Aquileo J. Echeverría National Prize" in Literature (2001; 2008).
