Jan Dash – Biography
Besides his finance positions, which included Director-level positions at some major institutions in quantitative finance and risk management, Jan has other interests. Currently, he holds the positions Visiting Research Scholar at Fordham U. and Adjunct Professor at the Courant Institute NYU. He is Director of the Climate Initiative of the Unitarian Universalist UN Office. He is on the UN Committee on Sustainable Development’s Board (CoNGO, NY), and delivered the CSD climate statement to some leaders at the Copenhagen climate conference. He is a member of the Green Team in Middletown NJ. He was Director de Recherche at the Centre de Physique Théorique (CNRS, Marseille, France). He published over 60 scientific papers. Later, he managed quant/risk groups in financial institutions and wrote the book, Quantitative Finance and Risk Management, A Physicist’s Approach, which is on sale at this site. He is the Chorus Master of the NY Grand Opera. He holds a BS from Caltech and a PhD in physics from UC Berkeley.
