Foster Dickson is a writer, editor, and award-winning teacher who lives in Montgomery, Alabama. Dickson's work explores neglected subjects within the American South, especially stories related to Civil Rights and social justice. He has received awards, grants, or fellowships from the Southern Poverty Law Center, Alabama PTA, Surdna Foundation, Lillian E. Smith Foundation, Center for Arts Education at Boston Arts Academy, and Alabama Bicentennial Commission. Foster is currently an Alabama State Council on the Arts Literary Arts Fellow.
