After growing up in Toledo, Ohio, I attended Bowling Green State Univ. and earned a BFA degree in studio art while minoring in history. After spending amazing summer studies at the Chautauqua Institution (NY) and Studio Art Centers International (Florence, Italy), I continued my studies for a Masters Degree in studio art at BJU in Greenville, SC. After graduate school I became the Assistant Director at the BJU Museum & Gallery and then curator in 1997. I began my career with researching the 450+ Old Master paintings in the collection and, meanwhile, became enamored with my new hometown of Greenville and sought to learn all I could about it. I started my own business, Greenville History Tours (www.greenvillehistorytours.com), in 2006 and published my first Greenville book in 2008. I have also published several collection and exhibition catalogs with the museum I work at (www.bjumg.org). I love to give tours of my museum and my city and am constantly interested in learning and sharing more about these two areas of interest.
