Jackie Pool

Jackie Pool is a UK leading dementia specialist who sat on the National Dementia Strategy reference group and was commissioned by Skills for Care to write the national dementia qualification framework (QCFs). She is the author of the reliable and valid Pool Activity Level (PAL) Instrument which was acquired by QCS and continues to develop through their digital capability as well as continuing to be available as a free to use hard copy in her most recent book: QCS PAL Instrument.

Dedicating her career of 42 years to developing the effective knowledge and skills of the dementia care workforce so as to improve the quality of experience of those who are living with dementia, Jackie recently retired as an Occupational Therapist Specialist in Dementia but continues to work in the field of research into rehabilitation and reablement and is very active as a Campaigner for occupational justice and equality for those who are disabled by the symptoms of dementia
