Lois V. Harris, children's author, writes to inspire children to follow their dreams. Her artist biographies include the picture books Mary Cassatt: Impressionist Painter, award-winning Charlie Russell: Tale-Telling Cowboy Artist, and Maxfield Parrish: Painter of Magical Make-Believe. Her newest, a middle grade, Lotta Crabtree: Gold Rush Fairy Star, earned the 2018 National Cowboy and Western Heritage Award for Best Juvenile Book, and the 2018 Western Writers of America Spur Finalist Award for Western Juvenile Nonfiction. Lois' fiction and nonfiction have appeared in many children's magazines and the L.A. Times. A member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and The Authors Guild, she lives in Anacortes, WA with her family. When not writing, you might find her boating and searching for whales in the nearby beautiful San Juan Islands or Canadian Gulf Islands.
