Christopher (Chris) S. Young (1950 - ) has been active as a volunteer in Search and Rescue since 1981, managed missing person searches since 1986, is the past reserve Captain for the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team and serves as chairman of the Bay Area Search and Rescue Council, Inc. (BASARC). Chris teaches several courses in Search Management for the State of California, the National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR) as well as several specialized course related management. Chris has also written, published and presented search management papers at several search and rescue national and international conferences and symposium. He lives with his family in the city he grew up in Lafayette, California.
