Tom Gorman

Tom Gorman began studying the Chinese language in high school in the Chicago area during the mid-1960s and continued , earning a degree from Princeton University’s East Asian Studies Department. He arrived in Hong Kong in 1974 intending a short stay, but instead co-founded a publishing company focusing on the China market, and has remained in Hong Kong ever since. He began travelling to the Chinese mainland during the mid-70s. He is a former Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and board chair of Hong Kong International School. He is Editor Emeritus of Fortune China Magazine, and an avid fly fisherman and fly tier.
