Before retiring in 2017, I worked at SAS Institute for 25 years as a technical writer, technical editor, and linguistic engineer. I devoted much of my time to terminology issues and to refining the Global English guidelines. As a linguistic engineer, I customized and supported tools and processes that helped make SAS documentation more consistent, easier to translate, and easier for non-native speakers of English to understand.
