Michael Pearson

Born in Walthamstow, London, I soon developed what was to become a lifelong interest in ships, (I worked in shipping for twenty years), and military history. Writing history is always a challenge, but an enjoyable one, and I try where possible to find subjects that have not already been extensively covered.

I was an advisor on the Yesterday Television documentary 'Operation Pedestal' and have written articles for various military magazines.

Another great passion of mine is motor racing - I even gave it a try myself some years ago, driving Formula Ford single seaters and Escort saloons, mainly at Brands Hatch, a great circuit! All of which led to the writing of my first novel, 'A Ribbon of Road in the Moonlight'. I felt that Formula One had already been well covered and so set the story in and around the classic road races of the 1950's, a highly dramatic era for the sport and one which I hope I have been able to capture in some measure.

For my latest book, 'End Game Burma', I have returned to military history and an account of the final bloody battle for Burma - Meiktila, 1945. Published by Pen & Sword, the book is now available.
