Jerry Yudelson

Social activist, environmentalist, engineer, accomplished author, spiritual seeker, global keynote speaker, sometimes entrepreneur, would-be politician, consultant, occasional poet, frequent blogger, green building movement leader, solar and wind power advocate, ashram resident, lobbyist, government official – some of the many hats Jerry Yudelson wore during a long career that he chronicles in his deliciously detailed, emotionally revealing, and spiritually insightful environmental memoir.

Deeply spiritual and relentlessly green, Jerry Yudelson's latest book, "The Godfather of Green: An Eco-Spiritual Memoir (Wyatt-MacKenzie, 2020) chronicles Jerry's environmental work, starting with the first Earth Day, and continuing through the solar and wind power movements of the 1970s and 1980s, and the green building movement of the 2000s and 2010s. Uniquely, it also offers insights into Jerry's spiritual journey of meditation and mindfulness. Released on the 50th anniversary of the first Earth Day in 1970, "The Godfather of Green" provides essential insights into how we need to engage both spiritually and politically to tackle today's climate emergency.

As an internationally known speaker and author Jerry wrote 14 previous books on green building, green homes, sustainable urbanism, building performance and water conservation. He speaks and writes with passion, humor, facts, and a deep personal experience with green building dating back to 1997.

A licensed professional engineer, Jerry Yudelson is a LEED Fellow, a former president of the Green Building Initiative, and a former board member of the U.S. Green Building Council.
