My latest book published in November 2016 is a collection of historical vignettes about Bucks County. Bucks County Adventures is a coffee-table book with 150 photographs, most taken by me. Lately, I have specialized in the rich history of Bucks County, Pa. I am a weekly history columnist for the Bucks County Courier Times and The Intelligencer, the county's two daily and Sunday newspapers. I also write scripts for Calkins Media's digital programing. In addition, my background includes accomplishments as a scuba diver and author of 4 books on submarine warfare for the esteemed Naval Institute Press based at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. I have appeared numerous times on the History Channel, BBC and Canadian Broadcasting regarding submarine history. My scuba experience includes pioneering explorations of the subterranean rivers of Florida to depths of 200 feet. I am a graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor of science degree. My wife Mary Anne and I live in Bucks County. Our daughter and her family frequently share adventures with me, exploring historical sites in the county for my weekly column. My works in a 40-year career in journalism at newspapers in California, Florida and Pennsylvania have earned numerous awards for writing, design and photography. Currently I am on the editorial board at the Courier Times.
