Sally Prue has lived nearly all her life in Hertfordshire, England. As a child a combination of short-sight, social awkwardness, and monumental amounts of boredom led her to develop both an intense fantasy life and a longing to explore which still inspire her work as a writer for young people.
Her novel Cold Tom won the Branford Boase Award and the Smarties Silver Award, and Song Hunter won the Young Quills Award for Historical Fiction.
