Omar W. Nasim

Omar W. Nasim is the Professor for the History of Science at the Institute of Philosophy at the University of Regensburg, Germany. Nasim has authored two award winning monographs, including Observing by Hand: Sketching the Nebulae in the Nineteenth Century (University of Chicago Press, 2013), which won the History of Science Society’s prestigious Pfizer Award for 2016. His latest book is The Astronomer's Chair: A Visual and Cultural History which will appear in September 2021 with the MIT Press.
