William Hayes

Bill Hayes has been a high school social studies teacher, department chair, assistant principal, and high school principal. From 1973-1994, he served as superintendent of schools for the Byron-Bergen Central School District which is located eighteen miles west of Rochester, NY. During his career, he was an active member of the New York State Council of Superintendents and is the author of a council publication entitled The Superintendency: Thoughts for New Superintendents, which is used to prepare new superintendents in New York State.

Mr. Hayes has also written a number of articles for various educational journals. After retiring from the superintendency he served as chair of the Teacher Education Division at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY until 2003. He currently remains a full-time teacher at Roberts Wesleyan. During the past ten years he has written thirteen books which have all been published by Scarecrow Education Press and R&L Education.
