David Geherin

David Geherin is Professor Emeritus of English at Eastern Michigan University, where he taught courses in modern and contemporary British and American literature as well as several courses in crime and mystery fiction. He is also author of numerous articles and twelve books on the subject. Four of them--The American Private Eye: The Image in Fiction; Scene of the Crime: The Importance of Place in Crime and Mystery Fiction; The Crime World of Michael Connelly: A Study of His Works and Their Adaptations; and Organized Crime on Page and Screen: Portrayals in Hit Novels, Films, and Television Shows--were finalists for the Edgar Allan Poe Award. In 2025 he was honored with the George N. Dove Award for his Contributions to the Study of Mystery and Crime Fiction.
