David Barrett

David is the Deputy Head of the nursing department at the University of Hull in the UK. After qualifying as a nurse in 1994, he worked in the field of Cardiac Care for eight years, before joining the University in 2002.

He has written a couple of books and publishes articles on a range of healthcare topics. His main clinical interests are nursing theory, cardiac care and telehealth. He is in the last stages of completing a PhD thesis exploring nurses' use of video-mediated communication in healthcare.
