I'm one of America's top 100 Barts! My latest book is "Father Humor: Mastering the Art of the Dad Joke" (2026). And my upcoming title (Winter 2026) is a funny Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles book called "The Mutants take Manhattan" for Choose Your Own Adventure.

I've also written the funny science-fiction adventures "Time Travel Inn" and "Time Travel Inn 2." Jeff Kinney (author of “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”) said they have “mind-blowing adventure and heart-stopping thrills!” (And CYOA publisher Shannon Gilligan said, “'Time Travel Inn' is the funniest CYOA ever written.”)

I've written many other books, including “The Pocket Guide to Spy Stuff” and my funny sci-fi novel, “The Drake Equation.” My essays have appeared at places like McSweeney's, AARP, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and the Oregonian. Oh, and I'm a longtime middle-school teacher.
