Willis D. Weight

Willis D Weight, PhD PE is a recently retired Professor of Engineering at Carroll College in Helena Montana. He developed the environmental engineering track in the college’s civil engineering department. He served as the Engineers Without Borders faculty advisor for the Guatemala Project for 11 years and supervised a solar construction project in Uganda in early 2020.

Willis began his teaching and consulting career in the Department of Geological Engineering at Montana Tech in Butte Montana in January 1989. He directed 22 successful MS theses and ran the hydrogeology field camp for 20 years before being recruited to Carroll College. He is also President of WDW Writing, Consulting & Planning INC, performing a wide range of consulting and engineering work related to water projects, including expert testimony since 1994. He is recognized for his expertise in aquifer hydraulics, numerical modeling, and solving water-related problems.

Willis has also taught large number of hydrogeology and modeling short courses including some taught internationally in Indonesia, Mexico City, and Peru.
