Guy Newland is Professor of Religion at Central Michigan University, where he has taught since 1988. He is the author of four books on Tibetan Buddhism: The Two Truths, Appearance and Reality, Introduction to Emptiness, Compassion: A

Tibetan Analysis and. He is also the author of A Buddhist Grief Observed. As a member of the Cowherds, he co-authored Moonpaths: Ethics and Emptiness and Moonshadows: Conventional Truth in Buddhist Philosophy. He is the translator and

editor of the Dalai Lama's book From Here to Enlightenment; an editor of the three-volume translation Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment; the editor of Changing Minds: Contributions to the Study of Buddhism and Tibet in Honor of Jeffrey Hopkins; and the translator of Just What Are the Two Truths in the Middle Way Consequence School. He contributed to Tibetan Literature: Studies in Genre.
