Nathan Harter

Nathan Harter has taught leadership since 1989, when he left the practice of law. This career apparently suits his temperament or aligns more with his calling, because by now he has taught for over thirty years -- 22 years at Purdue University's College of Technology and now 8 years as Full Professor in Leadership Studies at Christopher Newport University.

Living in Newport News, Virginia, Harter teaches full-time while becoming embedded in the campus community at an up-and-coming liberal arts and sciences, public university.

Leadership and Coherence, a publication from Routledge Taylor & Francis Group, has been selected as one of three books to receive an honorable mention award as part of the 2015 Department of Leadership Studies Outstanding Leadership Book Award. Specifically, the book was recognized for its innovation with new perspectives. The award was presented at the International Leadership Association Conference in Barcelona, Spain.
